Syracuse has landed 2021 four-star small forward, Benny Williams. This is the Orange second pickup in as many days. Williams chose Syracuse over the likes of Florida, Georgetown, Maryland, and Wake Forest. He had five other ACC offers.
“I picked them because of the relationship we built going back two years ago, especially coach Red [Autry] and with coach [Jim] Boeheim,” Williams told 247 sports. He took two unofficial visits to Syracuse before his commitment.
A 6’10 standout at St.Andrews Episcopal in Potomac, Maryland, he is the #1 ranked player in the state in his class. Williams is ranked the 9th overall SF and 37th best player nationally.
At St. Andrews Episcopal, he led the team to the 2020 MAC Title. The MAC is consistently thought of as one of the toughest leagues in the nation. Along with that, he made All-Met First Team, along with at least six other D1 signees.
Williams is the first commitment of the 2021 class for Boeheim. He is pumped for the future, “I think I can come in and impact the program right away and hopefully lead them to a national championship.” said Williams to 247 sports.
