In a shocking development, the Georgia Tech men’s basketball program struck out on yet another of it’s top recruits. Chandler Lawson, a 6’8 combo forward out of Memphis has elected to attend Oregon over the Jackets and Ole Miss according toe Eric Bossi. Lawson is ranked #89 in nation and #15 power forward.
Lawson is the younger brother of Kansas’s Lawson brothers, Dedric and KJ.
This is just another in a long line of blows to the Georgia Tech program as the Jackets have now failed to land any prep players who have officially visited Atlanta in the early signing period. They are 0-8. The teams they have failed to out recruit? Fresno St., South Florida, Temple, Northwestern and Oklahoma State.
It is to be assumed that Damion Baugh, a guard out of Memphis, becomes their number one priority. Of course with that comes more potentially damning news. Baugh now appears to be being pursued by Memphis after the Tigers lost out on Boogie Ellis, who committed to Duke last weekend.
Currently, Josh Pastner’s 2019 recruiting class consists of JUCO David Didenko, who is averaging 4.8 points and 5.4 rebounds in five games for Palm Beach State College. Oton Jankovic, a 3 star big man out of Montverde Academy, officially visited Atlanta on the sly last weekend.
