Over the next few weeks I am going to be releasing the top 25 returning players to the ACC for the 2018-19 season.
Coming in at #25 is Miami Hurricanes forward Anthony Lawrence Jr. Lawrence has been a role player for most of his career in Coral Gables but will be leaned upon this year to step up and be a star.
The 6’7 forward can play on the wing or in the post effectively. Last season he averaged 8.8 points and 6.5 rebounds while shooting a career high 43.2% from behind the arc. For his career he is a 39.7% shooter from deep.
Lawrence Jr. had a nice run in ACC play, logging double digit points in 6 of 7 games from January 13th to February 3rd. He capped off that hot streak with a 25 point, 13 rebound and 3 block performance in a win at Virginia Tech.
Consistency has always been the question with Anthony. In order for the Hurricanes to make their fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament, he will have to be relied upon night in and night out.
