Brown joins Wilson-Frame, Davis and Stevenson in returning the fold

Newly hired Pitt coach Jeff Capel has yet to hire a staff but that doesn’t mean he isn’t working. Today Terrell Brown, a current 6’10 240 pound freshman has recommitted to Pittsburgh basketball after being one of the players who asked for and received their release after Kevin Stallings was fired.
The former 3 star recruit from the 2017 class averaged 4.4 points and 3.4 rebounds for the Panthers in 17 minutes per game. He also averaged more than 2 fouls per game in those 17 minutes.
Brown is a bit raw but had a few moments of promise in his freshman campaign, including a 19 point, 8 rebound effort against Clemson at Littlejohn in early February.
For the purposes of Pittsburgh having some kind of continuity season to season this has to be considered a win for Capel. Brown is a project but you would hate to see the program have to turn the entire roster over (again) which will only elongate this rebuild.
Depending on who Capel hires to work with his big men I think Brown can become a player that will be effective as an upperclassman and at the very least an asset coming off the bench to provide quality depth.
