Class of 2018 point guard Jalen Carey has cut his list to 6 and 2 ACC programs have made the cut.
Syracuse and Miami, two teams that will be looking to sure up the lead guard spot in 2018, are joined by Kansas, Rutgers, Villanova and UConn.
One of those things is not like the others…
The Immaculate Conception (NYC) point guard is a top 60 recruit according to 247sports.com
Syracuse has been looking to solidify their point guard spot for a couple of seasons now. Colorado St graduate transfer John Gillon filled in last year but was wildly inconsistent and was obviously not a true lead guard. The Orange will be relying on another graduate transfer, Geno Thorpe (USF) during the 17-18 campaign while hoping Frank Howard can take another step in his development for the following year.
The Hurricanes have senior Ja’Quan Newton and 4* freshman guard Chris Lykes this year but Newton is a senior and backcourt mates Bruce Brown and Lonnie Walker will more than likely declare for the NBA draft at the end of the season.
